Noble and Ryan are hoping to adopt

Noble and Ryan Adopt

INTRODUCTION

Greetings from the Second City, Chicago!

We are Ryan and Noble, two 30-somethings who have been married for 3+ years and live close to Lake Michigan in one of the many amazing neighborhoods in the city.

Both of us are eager to start our family, as we have separately dreamed of this for years and now see it as a priority for us as a couple. Given that we are unable to have children of our own naturally, adoption is an incredible option for us to live out our dreams. It is such an amazing responsibility, as we understand we are being entrusted with a very precious gift.

We strive to provide a safe, accepting, and loving environment for a child, where they will understand and love their background and themself.

With that in mind, we are seeking an open adoption so that this child can be connected with their birth family. In fact, our biggest dream is that they feel loved and accepted for who they are, and always appreciate where they came from.

We understand everyone’s adoption journey is different, and we also know that we’ll never truly comprehend the difficult decisions and choices you are making for your child right now. We thank you for the opportunity to introduce ourselves and wish you the best in your journey.

OUR STORY

We first met organically (yes, that still happens!) through a local kickball team.

At that point, Noble had been on 41 first dates for the year and was frustrated he had not found someone like Ryan. Noble likes to say it was love at first sight for him, while Ryan will comment that Noble was the unexpected surprise that he didn’t know he needed. Noble proposed a year later on a surprise trip to Paris (Ryan’s dream trip) on New Year’s Eve. Cheesy, but hey, that’s us!

We joke that we got married too many times! The first time was legally at a courthouse in Chicago, followed by a small ceremony with our family in South Carolina.

As if that wasn’t enough, we then celebrated our marriage with a reception of friends and family in Chicago. Oh, and did we mention that we were on a reality TV show too? Look us up on the Cooking Channel’s “Cake Hunters.”

As a couple, we have always agreed that we want to be prepared emotionally and financially before attempting to fulfill our parental dreams. Three years of marriage have taught us so much about ourselves and how to handle the natural ebbs and flows of life. We’re committed to cultivating a loving and strong marriage. Our next big step is to start our family.

Our Home

We love living right by Lake Michigan - in 10 minutes, we can walk to the shore and feel like we're at the beach.

Given how cold and snowy the winter months can be, Chicagoans are known for taking full advantage of the warm months and time by the lake! From May to October, we spend our weekends out by the lake, either playing soccer, volleyball, or spike-ball with our friends, or relaxing in the sand reading a book.

We are a short walk from many of our friends, and the neighborhood has a rich history of LGBTQ+ equality and civil rights for all.

Our small family already includes a fur baby, our eight-year-old cat Maia, who befriends and demands attention from anyone she meets.

our Loved Ones

Every summer, Noble's family can be found covered in salt water and sand. From building “drip castles” to body surfing to chowing down to a low country boil, your child will be surrounded by their 4 cousins (ages 4 to 13) on the annual beach trip.

In true Italian fashion, Ryan's family comes together around food. Great Grandma Bonnie’s pretzel Jell-O salad accompanies the legendary Christmas prime rib to fill everyone up, yet Nana Deb keeps putting out more food (lasagna, coffee cake, cookies, pralines…).

And our new family in Chicago keeps growing and growing, with new friends and new babies of old friends. We have built an incredible support network of loving friends who we celebrate at our annual Friendsgiving in November—an opportunity to slow down, catch up, and celebrate friendship and our chosen family.
