Emily and Eric Adopt

INTRODUCTION

Hi, we are Emily, Eric and Norah!

We are so grateful for you taking the time to read our profile.

We live in Denver CO, toward the foothills of the mountains, in a neighborhood with lots of open space and beautiful views.

Making the decision to adopt came quickly for us because we knew we wanted to grow our family and we’ve seen first hand the blessing adoption is. We initially had infertility struggles while trying to get pregnant with our only child, Norah. Then after she was born Emily had major complications resulting in her no longer being able to have more children. We know that adoption is not an easy journey, but it’s our journey and we’d love to do it with you!

about us

We met through an online dating app in the summer of 2013.

We were both a bit skeptical of finding love this way, but also knew friends that had found true love online. After a few weeks of chatting through the online app, our first date was a minor league baseball game (a favorite sport of ours!) and our second date was a day hike (a favorite outdoor activity of ours!). On the way home from our hike that evening, Emily asked Eric for some gum. He had a TUB of bubble gum flavored gum, which Emily found funny. We started chewing all of the gum in that giant tub, piece by piece, until it was gone. As we pulled into my apartment Eric looked at me (in that way!) and we had our first kiss…both with mouthfuls of bubble gum!

Shortly after meeting, Emily moved to Seattle for work. We continued our relationship long distance and feel that it gave us the opportunity to really get to know each other.  Upon Emily’s return we both knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and share it with children. We were engaged in December of 2014 and married in June of 2015!

our home

We live just outside Denver, CO where we never get tired of seeing all of the beautiful mountain views from our yard, or heading into Denver for a day of fun.

The community we live in has great schools within walking distance. There are many pathways for running and walking that intertwine all of the streets. Off of these pathways are amazing open space hiking trails among the large rocks and foothills of the mountains. Our street and neighborhood is full of children of all ages that we love scootering, biking and playing with. It’s wonderful having such a tight knit relationship with these families.

in closing

A final thank you

It’s hard to share everything you may want to know about us and our lives in one book, but we hope this has given you a glimpse into our love, our life and our family. Our promise to you is that we will cherish your child and provide a safe, loving and fun home. We will always share with them the courage and selflessness you have as their birth mother.
